Calla lilies (Zantedeschia) have sleek, trumpet-shaped blooms on smooth, leafless stems. Each bloom as a funnel-shaped cone (spathe) around a long yellow spike (spadix). Despite the name, callas aren’t true lilies. They’re elegant and modern, which makes them a favourite for bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, tall vase arrangements and minimalist designs. Vase life is 7 to 14 days. Handle the blooms gently because they bruise easily.
